Last Sunday 6th of February 2022, the Gozo Motocross Association organized the fifth round of the Gozo Motocross Championship 2021-22 fuelled by Enemed.
It was quite an eventful day as a total of 28 riders challenged each other in order to put themselves ahead of their competition.
In Class A, reigning champion Steve Xuereb managed to gain maximum points of the date, finishing in the first place. Closely following behind is fellow rider David Dimech with Mario Cauchi and Jorn Stellini in third and fourth place respectively.
In Class B, after a long and hard-fought battle for first place, Maltese rider Biuren Grima managed to beat Joseph Bigeni by a few. Robert Spiteri finished in third.
Class C was dominated by three Maltese riders as Daniel Borg, William Sant and Jonathan Borg took the podium for the day!
In his amazing comeback after a long pause from motocross, Godfrey Bigeni has proven himself once again as he took first place, closely followed behind by young Antoni Said.
During the day, the association also organized races for the young ones - Matthias Sultana, Krystn Theuma, Shaysen Mercieca, Isaac Borg, Craig Piscopo, Zac Tabone, Diego Panza, and Skylar Slowe. All of these riders are currently attending the GMA Junior Academy - an academy aiming to teach young and enthusiastic children the sport of motocross. Each rider was presented with a small token of participation from Alex Debono of Sports Experience Trophies and Awards.
President of the association, Frank Xuereb, presented trophies to all winners on behalf of Ravenol Oil Lubricants provided by Galea General Services.
