The Gozo Motocross Association has published a short documentary on the history of the association and the evolution of motocross in Gozo.
The documentary features current and ex-ridera as well as committee members who share their experiences during the setting up the association back in late 1980s.
Mr. Michael Salina, ex-president of the GMA describes how together with the late Vince Bonello, known as Censu Splott and George Xuereb known as Gorg ta' Brunu, saw the enthusiasm of local riders and together they worked hard to start the motocross sport in Gozo.
Current president Frank Xuereb, together with other fellow riders, got their hands on a piece of land within the area known as Ta' Xhajma which was transformed into what is today the only motocross track in Gozo.
Speed up the years and today the association is proud to say that it has provide a strong platform for young and upcoming riders to enjoy the sport of motocross. Providing individual and group training sessions, as well as lessons for young riders through the GMA Junior Academy, the association is determined that the future of motocross in Gozo is secured.
